A five-day Pathfinder course runs during the summer school holidays at Kendrew Barracks. The course runs daily from 08:30 until 16:30 from 20th to 24th July 2026.
If you live in Leicestershire, the course cost is £240. If you DO NOT live in a Sponsored County and need a bursary in order to take part OR If you live in a Sponsored County but need additional financial support in order to take part please apply for a bursary here before booking. Once the Trustees confirm that a bursary is available you will be able to complete the booking process.
In one week students of the Pathfinder Initiative achieve the essential driving competence, attitudes, and understanding to become safe drivers. Uniquely, Pathfinder is for students aged between 15-17 and their guardians. You learn in a safe, secure environment, having fun together and building understanding and trust. Alongside learning and developing core driving skills, students will learn about and practice:
- Driving and Road Safety Theory
- Dealing with Peer Pressure
- Road Risk and Safety Practise
- Advanced Driving Appreciation
- Essential Car Control
- Manoeuvring & Overtaking
- Brake and Avoid
- Speed Awareness
